Once in a while, there can be really nice things at Forever21. Take for example this super pretty Hello Kitty sweatshirt. I am so drooly over it! I would order it except it's sold out in my size. It's only $22.80, except oddly enough I can't even find it on the Canadian site!

Walk In Closet
In my future house in an ideal world, I would have a huge customized walk-in closet, where I can easily find exactly what I'm looking for in one place.
I have a terrible tendency to forget items I've brought and subsequently stop wearing them/lose my clothes while they are in storage.
For example, it wasn't until I was looking through my old photos that I remembered about my new Aritizia Wilfred dress that I was in love with, purchased over boxing day, wore once, and stowed away into the closet since then. Oopsies. Maybe I will pull it out for tomorrow's family dinner...

My heart beats just a little faster
I would go to the mall... if only I did not ban myself from Aritizia... too much tempation. I always find good end of season stuff, especially during the "you snooze you lose 50-70% off". Realistically, that's the only time to go to Aritizia and have things actually kind of "worth it", particularly the one on Bloor. Given I'm not downtown the next few days, I'll take it as a sign that it's not meant to be!
Anthropologie Fall/Winter Sales
I must admit... I am surprised that I am less GAGA over Anthropologie's winter sale, though a part of that is due to my weak overall finances. Over the past year, my closet has been slowly accumulating more and more Anthropologie stuff, to the point that I really should become a VIP (too bad such a system does not exist), though it wasn't til recently that I realized that their stuff is actually pretty expensive, even when on sale!
From that point, I decided that I have to be very selective with my Anthro purchases moving forward. So far, I've been pretty good about it. The only things I brought were the kimono dress (which was on sale and a must have) and the water colour skirt, both from their fall collection.
I went to their site today and discovered new items have been added to the sale section. Two things I particularly like are the Linnea Blouse and the Gunilla Dress. I'm such a sucker for floral prints.
I think they would be a nice addition to my closet, but alas, I really really shouldn't. Instead, I shall go to Michael's tomorrow to look for materials for a Valentine day card. I think that would be a much wiser purchase.

H&M Conscious Collection
Last spring, I was lusting over H&M's garden collection (based on the theme of clothes made of sustainable materials). In the end, I managed to snag a lot of the much loved pieces including the florette dress! I'd much preferred the red version, but it was gone by the time I got there at 9:35 the day the collection launched (5 minutes after the mall opened)! People are even crazier than me :(
This year, in the same token, they are launching the conscious collection, made of green materials such as organic cotton, tencel, and recyled polyester. The collection consists of many white pieces, with romantic detailing. White is one of my favourite colours for clothes, so I'm super excited about this collection. You can bet I'll be at the mall at 5 minutes before it opens this year. Here are my personal picks, though I'll need to cut it down.
The total cost of all these items? $450! I will keep contemplating/buy all and return later.

Decisions decisions!
For a while now, I've been liking the House of Harlow 1960 Maddie Moccasin. I love Nicole Richie and her relaxed hippie style. One item that has particularly caught my eye were those moccasins. I recently got a pair this year from my dear friend Serene, which were the Minnetonka brown booties. It it obviously two different things, and given House of Harlow's is black and beaded (which of course every girl should have one).
I'd called the store to put the Maddie on hold, but when I returned yesterday to purchase it, it turns out that it's $175 vs $125 (I'd misread the price tag). $175 seems a little too much to me :(
So instead, I'll take this as a sign to buy the tulle bikini I've been lusting over the past while from Jcrew. :D I got it in the white colour. It is oh so romantic and I love the look of tulle. Makes me feel like a ballerina princess! No more shopping for the month of February!

First Post!
I have a confession to make. I honestly think that through time and the people I know, I have developed some crazy, sometimes uncontrollable shopaholic tendencies. What does that mean? Well, according to the Illinois Institute for Addiction Recovery, four or more of the following money habits indicates a problem with shopping or spending:
- Shopping of spending money as a result of being disappointed, angry or scared. Yes, I go impulse shopping when I'm upset.
- Shopping/spending habits causing emotional distress or chaos in one’s life. Yes, because I know I want to save, but just can't control myself.
- Having arguments with others regarding shopping or spending habits.
- Feeling lost without credit cards.
- Buying items on credit that would not be bought with cash. Yes, because card is just that much easier, and it feels like you're spending less.
- Spending money causes a rush of euphoria and anxiety at the same time. Yes, I want it but I dread the credit card debt at the end of the month.
- Spending or shopping feels like a reckless or forbidden act. Yes because I have forbidden myself from it.
- Feeling guilty, ashamed, embarrassed or confused after shopping or spending money. Many purchases are never used. Yes. Some purchases were made at spur of the moment, and cannot be returned. Others, I forget about or work inappropriate and cannot be worn. Some, I have determined I no longer like the style (even though at the point of purchase, it's the best thing ever).
- Lying to others about what was bought or how much money was spent. Yes. I always lie about the prices to my parents, if they happen to find any new purchases. Usually, I like to hide them in my room post-purchase so it's not found out til later.
- Thinking excessively about money. Yes. I am getting older and I really should do some future planning.
- Spending a lot of time juggling accounts and bills to accommodate spending. Yes. it has been getting to that point the past few months. Very disappointing.
Given the above, it is quite obvious I am quite the shopaholic. However, the scariest part is that I don't think I can stop and this makes me sad.
Logically, do I know that I don't need these things? Yes.
Do I know that there are better things to save for (like a house)? Yes.
Can I stop myself? I'm not entirely sure.
